Work is produced in a variety of softwares, including Maya, Arnold, Blender, Eevee, Cycles, Substance Painter, Houdini, and Nuke.

BREAKDOWN:

1. "Twin Sparks" Short Film

Twin Sparks is Heather Yun and I's SVA senior thesis film set to come out in Spring 2023! I've always been inspired by stylized 3D, and am super excited show off all I've learned about the medium in this film! I'm responsible for the shading, lighting, and FX in this shot, which was done in a combination of Houdini, Blender, and Nuke. Animation is done by my thesis partner Heather. 2. "Soup!":

Modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, Fluid sim/steam FX created in Houdini, rendered in Mantra. My very first foray into Flip fluids, and it went pretty smoothly! I utilized the new Flip/SOP workflow introduced in 19.5 which streamlined a lot of the setup. I also utilized the velocity field from the fluid to add particles such as oil droplets and parsley to the soup.

3. Lunchbox:

Modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Blender Cycles. A fun little lunchbox set, complete with an off-brand Power Rangers design!

4. "Outgrow" Short Film

Selected for Toronto Animation Arts Festival International, New Cinema - Lisbon Monthly Film Festival, and Virtual Film Festival. Outgrow is a film I directed about growing up, and growing out of the place you once called home. Created by Ollie Yao, Mav Vitale, Westine Leung, Ben Meyer, Heather Yun, Deniz Mani, Alex Yun and Kaitlin Yu.

5. Four Items Three Ways:

Textured in Substance Painter, FX animation created in Houdini, rendered in Arnold. Models acquired from Turbosquid. A fun little experiment in exporting Houdini attributes for use in Arnold, and also in texturing the same items in different materials!

6. "The Broken Egg":

Modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Blender Cycles. A moody neon-bathed environment model of a sweet, janky little diner.

7. "The Devil" 3D Illustration:

Rendered in Blender. Tarot card rendered with the Parallax Occlusion Mapping node plugin in Blender created by Anton Neveselov. Original illustration was created by me as a present for my Dungeons and Dragons group.

8. Medieval Meadow Environment Model:

Modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Blender Cycles. Vegetation created in Houdini.
