Dark Alchemy
I am submitting an entry into rookie of the year, game development category. My entry is the start of a project that follows a dark souls/alchemy inspired theme which is inspired by my previous work that I wish to develop further.
For one of my final projects in university I created an environment in Unreal Engine 5 with downloaded assets from places like sketchfab. Below is the final animation shot of the environment.
As can be seen by the still image below I went with an old alchemy theme.
I edited this still image render using photoshop and camera raw. I have gotten inspiration and am developing this concept further by creating another environment for a game idea I have that follows a long this theme as well. It will look a little different as I also want to incorporate inspiration from dark soul games like bloodborne. It's one of my favourite aesthetics. I'll be doing a combination of modelling my own assets as well as retopologising downloadable assets.
I have started some modelling and texturing of a fireplace for this.
