Moon Guardian
Concept by Hardy Fowler. I'm proud to finally show the new proyect I have been working on my spare time for the past two months. It's been a challenging one for sure, but overall I'm happy with the results.
My initial goal was to respect as much as possible the original concept art while also giving the proyect a realistic sthetic. The composition, pose and main lighting maintain that purpose, but I also took the liberty to add some additional lighting in order to achieve a more dramatic affect.

Sculpting process:
The sculpting process was a though one for me, specially in the terciary forms and details for the skin, in which I'm still developing confidence. A good bunch of reference was essential for this.
Some parts like the accesories in the belt at first were a little bit confusing just by looking at the concept, so I had to look at other versions of the character, which helped me a lot when I was arranging the elements.

For the textures it was important to maintain a certain degree of desaturation if I wanted to achieve a more natural look to the character. Keeping this in mind I added some subsurface scattering to the skin and adjusted some roughness values for a better result in the render engine.
For a greater presentation, I added as a base to my scene a megascans asset.
