La Treille de Provence

HOSPITALITY DESIGN

> Completed during a study abroad experience in Provence, France, this project's site is the remnants of a stone quarry which was historically used as a space for festivals, musical performances, events, and gatherings. The site's adjacency to several small villages and central position in Provence provides an opportunity for seasonal visitors and locals to access it regularly.

Inspired by the structural and repetitional elements found in the support system of a trellis, this design takes a contemporary approach to Provençal architecture, celebrating the site’s natural stone structure. The experience is immersive, where users will get to visit local gardens and vineyards, picking their own produce to bring back to the site. The site provides a framework for users to experience a cooking or wine-making class, followed by an intimate dinner paired with live music, reminiscent of a typical French garden party.

18-4530 by PANTONE

RETAIL DESIGN

> 400 Newbury Street is an iconic building for the city of the Boston. Currently under construction, this multi-story commercial building will become the first air-right project since the 1980’s. The site stretches across the Massachusetts Turnpike, and will be seen as a gateway into the city. This project occupies a 2,400 sf space in the ground level of the building.

18-4530 by Pantone is a flagship retail store designed for Pantone's hypothetical launch of their first ever perfume line.

In coordination with Pantone's highly-anticipated "Color of the Year," I was tasked with choosing a Pantone color to feature throughout the store. The color I chose is Celestial 18-4530.

To emphasize the connections that both Boston (the clientele) and Pantone (the client) create for different groups of people, the metaphor of a HEARTH was used. The concept of hearth inspired the creation of a central element that encourages gathering and conversation. In plan, this custom element includes the stockroom, workshop, and bar. The shape of the workshop and bar follow a curved shape, similar to what is found in the architecture of the existing building. This shape also creates a clear pathway for users to navigate through the space.

Warby Parker Headquarters

WORKPLACE DESIGN

Warby Parker, a successful glasses company, is building a hypothetical headquarters location in downtown Savannah, Georgia!

This project is designed for Warby Parker and their company values, which focus on creating a fun, welcoming, quirky, and positive work environment.

Inspired by the phrase "the ordinary became extraordinary" from John Berendt's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, this concept looks beyond the ordinary nature of glasses and into the science of how they work.

Throughout the design, the angular elements of refraction lines will be explored to create unique spaces and forms.
