BREAK
Break is my master final project. A cinematic that opposite images of the human activity against their consequences. On this project I have tried to show the learnt skills during this course at UT-HUB. I wanted to work environments, materials, lighting and cinematics.
Break is my master's final project. A cinematic that shows how the continuous and inceassing human activity is choking the planet and ourselves. Break has a double meaning. On the first hand, break with the model of society we have and find an alternative in balance with the nature; on the second hand, the idea of just give the planet a break, and give to the nature the breath it needs to go on.
Thinking about an idea where I could show my skills on environment design, lighting and cinematics the experimental documentary Koyaanisqatsi (1982) by Godfrey Reggio came to mind.

To transmit the message I want, I needed to design different environments showing the human activity and some others with the consequences on the nature.
Process
From the blocking to the color grading. For every scene I had to look for the assets to set the shot up, work with the materials to adjust them, design the lighting scheme necessary to get the atmosphere I was looking for and adjust the camera settings. Finally, with the color grading I have given to the images the final look and the desired tone.
Although the factory is a CAD model downloaded from Cadnav.com, I have modeled some parts like the chimneys, the cooler tower and some buildings using Blender. The chimneys have been texturized in Substance Painter.
