Louise Benetti - Portfolio
Hi! I'm Louise and these are some projects that I've been working on for the past year. I hope you enjoy!
Personal project
This is one of my projects called Abracatabra. It is meant for a 3D adventure/platform semi-open world game. It's about a chef/magician cat who lives in a world where the land and its inhabitants are made out of various foods. Our cat chef cooks various magical meals that give you special abilities. One day he gets his magic cookbook stolen by a malicious character and the pages from the cookbook get scattered across the different maps of the game, so he must set on an adventure to retrieve them. Each page acquired will allow him to learn a new recipe, giving him a special power that will help him access other maps, until he reaches the lair of the villain, defeats him and gets his cookbook back.
This here is the hero of the game. I wanted to make a cute, cartoon style game that is appealing visually, in terms of shapes and colors. I gave him a design that reminds of both chef and magician outfits, while keeping simple clothes that he can easily move in. He can use his magic wand to attack and can "summon" recipes from his hat.
The is the final boss in the game, and the one who steals the cookbook. He is from a land inspired by hot and spicy food. He attacks other maps to gain more power and keeps elements from those lands as accessories to showcase his power.
This is a design for one of the maps that the hero can explore, which is based on ice cream desserts. Natural elements like water, trees, etc are replaced by sweets.
This is one of the bosses that the hero fights: he is the king of the ice cream map. I have based this character on an alpine ibex as it is an animal that thrives in cold weather. He uses an ice cream cone as a sceptre, which he can also use to fight.
This is the boss' sidekick, who helps him during the fight. I have chosen to use a squirrel to emphasize his agility, as well as to contrast with the large size of the ibex. He hides in the boss' cape to guard his back and jumps out of it to attack the hero.
These are examples of the magic recipes that the hero acquires during the game. The first one is inspired by mizu shingen mochi and gives the ability to breathe underwater. The second one is inspired by century eggs and gives the ability to see into the future.
En Roue Libre
This is one of the school projects that I have worked on this year. These designs were for a short 3D film called En Roue Libre. It's about a ram, Marley, and a deer, Sylvio, who compete in a bicycle race, which doesn't go as planned.
The pictures in the last image were ultimately used as photographs that appear in different shots of the film.
