Kyusen - A japanese journey
This is a personal project inspired by the feudal Japan, its architecture, environments and magic. Hope you like it.
I began with this general location environment where it could be seen the relationship between the shrine and the fields where the peasants would work and would live in. I wanted to show how isolated the shrine would be and how the people should walk a long distance to get there and pray.
These are some of the thumbnails and color proves I did to explore the previous environment.
This would be the peasant's house, a simple and small place in which the character would live on its own. It would be a one-piece house made from basic materials such as wood and wicker, with the essential items that the peasant would need to survive and work the rice fields.
And finally, this one would be the shrine, an old tower located in the middle of the mountain, barely visited by people, surrounded by trees and vegetation and invaded by a giant spider that made one of the floors his nest!
