Viking Warrior Red Sonja

Im Ramon and this is my first time entering The Rookies. After a learning a lot in Voxel School, I have done two projects. A human character and a creature.

Im very happy with the character I have created. Using Xgen hair and sculpting realistic damages on the leather and metal parts has been a big change in my workflow.

Making all the accessories in Maya and then detailing the in Zbrush has been a time consuming part of creating the character but it kept the project interesting and varied.

Posed using the basic rig from maya with a blendshape for the shouting expression.

Viking woman inspired by the character red Sonja with a realistic leather armor and fur cape instead of the classical chainmail bikini armor.

Done in Zbrush using 3D scan textures. Texturized in Substance Painter  The hair is done with Xgen.

This was my first creature I have attempted to create. It was a challenging thing to do since it combines different animals. I use my knowledge of human anatomy to adapt it to the different animal parts and of this creature. 

Texturing was a fun part of the process using all the built in tools in Substance that use the highpoly information to generate the color variation
