These are a few of the animations I have completed so far during my time at Gnomon. The first two sequences will focus on biomechanics, and the last is about the performance; communicating without dialogue.

Round of applause for our sponsors

Hello there! These are projects I have done during my time at gnomon spanning different terms. The title video is my very first walk cycle in 2D. The rigs I used were provided by school or purchased on turbosquid from the artist: kielfiggins.

The scenes with the Skull Chaser character were for my Character Animation 2 class which focused on biomechanics. I am heavily inspired by cartoons films, and games I have played. I took reference from shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender and a parkour game called Vector to make the first scene. The Floating Platform was done with storyboards first, and I used a video reference of people using a balance board with hopes of replicating a similar feeling.

The last scene "An Unlucky Rogue" was inspired by one of my more recent hobbies; Dungeons and Dragons. I love the fantasy setting, the creativity, and the freedom the Dungeon Master and the Players have in the world; and this was a nice opportunity to bring those elements into a small snippet of animation here. I created a beat sheet to make sure I hit the key points, practice communicating emotion, and story telling without any dialogue. This was a midterm I submitted for the Character Animation 3 class I am currently enrolled in; we had roughly 4-5 weeks to bring it to a polish pass. Big thanks to my animation professors who continue to push me to greater heights, as well as my two friends who helped me shoot video reference for this piece, they were awesome stunt people!

Thank you for Reading and Watching!
