Round of applause for our sponsors

Yanshis is my final year project in Bellecour Ecole, it is designed for movies adressed to 12yo and more people.

It tells the story of Guanlin (the main character), a shaman of lineage, who suddendly sees all the inhabitants of her country die one after the other. Since she prayed and venerated the Gods all her life, she goes looking for them, hoping to find some answers and some solutions to maybe fix this disaster...

I wanted to put the creatures forward because that's what I'm the more interested in!

Hope you enjoy!

Here are my researches and final design for one of the eight Gods in Yanshis. All are inspired by the elements of the chinese bagua.

The God of Water is as unstable as his element! Each of the elementary gods have a very own personality...

This one is very, well... Hot tempered!

For its design I wanted to make it meander like flames and glow like incandescent embers.

Here is the sidekick of Yanshis (adult and young), Childebert! He is the best friend of Guanlin, and helps her in her quest. Since he knows the area very well, he quickly became her 'survival' teacher.

He lives in the earth area so his features are adapted to this very greenery region. Also, he is very smart, so don't judge him on his cute appearance...

The Elephant of Souls comes from the Gods' Area. It's the only immortal creature in Yanshis, set apart the Gods.

Finally, the main character! I know you were waiting for her, so here she is! Guanlin is at the start of the story quite shy and not very resourceful, that's where Chil' comes in! She rapidly becomes a very skilled huntress thanks to her incredible teacher...

Kun, home town of our two mains characters. Beautiful land, full of strange plants...

Here are some trees, because we always need more! Those lived longer than Gandalf, so trust me, they're old!

And that's the end of Yanshis! (don't worry, it's not finished, in fact, there's still quite a lot to do ...).

This very kind like creature is a first try for the Thunder God I did for Yanshis before I even knew the name of this project! I wanted to end it with the start...

You'll now see some various concepts, also done during school so stay with me!

A zombie designed for an rpg like action horror game.

Take care of its claws, it's his strength!

Here is you're favourite next doctor! This chinese acupuncturist has fairy fingers!

It was made during a workshop called Iskra, led by Anna Lakisova, I had to follow a realistic AD, and put some medieval fantasy and steampunk inspirations in it!

Some horror stickers like characters I made for a work based on the Valiant Little Tailor, a tale written by the Grimm brothers.

The theme was victorian horror, it's oriented towards the 16yo and more.

This board shows concepts made for a fight game, 'Streetfighter like', for the 18 yo and more.

I took inspiration from the yin and the yang for the composition, since I wanted it to be equally balanced. And played with the opposition of the red and the green to stress this duality. The whole atmosphere is very calm and warm, so don't worry, you'll rest in peace in you lose the battle!

A city covered in fog, bright neons everywhere, and ghosts floating in the air...

This inn was made for a rpg realistic game, 'skyrim like'. I had to draw an inn and it's various views as well as the bar and to think about the paths taken by a variety of different customers. So I designed the different levels of the inn according to the social categories of the clientele (that was the harder challenge!).

Trust me, their pints of beer are delicious and the pub servers, very joyeful (maybe thanks to the beer, but whatever...) !

That's it for my share, I hope you had fun and were inspired!

Thank you for staying with me so far!
