Mortarion
This is my foundations project for Think tank training online, which I completed in January 2023. The project is based off of Mauro Belfiore's "Mortarion". The video below will show all the passes and all the compositing that was done to achieve the final image.
This is the schedule that I followed to get the project done on time. Think tank provided us with 5 weeks to do this project, but I had decided that I would work through the Christmas break to give myself more time.
The video above shows all the screenshots I took while working on the project. The project was done using Maya, Zbrush, Substance painter, Photoshop, Marvelous designer, and Vray. Hope you like it!
Infra-red (Real-time character)
This is my intermediate term final project for Think tank online. For this project we were given 5 weeks to create a character bust based off of a concept. I decided that I wanted to push myself and decided to go for a full character. I ended up going with "Infra-red" by Carnoys Ye as my reference for this project.
Above are some close up shots from the project. I really tried to showcase all the small details that I added in this project.
For this project I tried to make the most high quality mesh I could while keeping the poly count as low as I could. In total the full model excluding any of the hair is 123,096 tris. The character is made up of 8 Texture sets all at 4k each.
Above is a screenshot from the substance painter file. Everything in the project other than the face and the revolver was textured in one file.
For the head I used a scan from 3d Scan store as my base which I then took into substance painter to add details like the makeup and metallic accents. I also did some extra tweaks to the skin so that it would match the concept a bit better.
Some extra turntable shots from the project. I wanted to take some renders of the character in some different lighting setups at the end to see how all the textures would react in them. This project was done using Zbrush, Maya, marvelous designer, Substance painter, Marmoset toolbag 4 and Photoshop. Hope you like the final result I was able to achieve.
