My 1st year student work and personal showcase
Projects that i have done as a student in my first year of Howest Digital Arts and Entertainment and some of my best personal projects i have done prior to my studies.
This is my exam project for the 3D2 course in Howest DAE. We were asked to model a retro car with subdivision techniques (quads only), and produce a photorealistic, high quality render, in Arnold. I chose to model the Alpine A110 which was a historic rally car, produced from the early 60s till the early 70s. I am very pleased with my result as this was only my second high poly project made with quad subdivision techniques.
Below are some extra closeup beauty shots of the model
This is my first project of our second semester 3D2 couse. We had to follow the same subdivision techniques as the car project. We were asked to model an existing retro kitchen device and make a realistic product render in arnold with clay material. This was my very first project of high poly modeling made with quad subdivision techniques.
This is my second graded assignment submission for the Game Art course. We were asked to create a low poly, stylized, handpainted weapon that can fit in World of Warcraft. The model was made in Blender and painted in 3D Coat and Photoshop.
Two low poly scenes that were made for the 3D1 course during the first semester. First we were asked to model and texture 5 low poly props and combine them in a scene to present it. These 5 props were later used in a diorama scene and both of these scenes were presented on Sketchfab. I feel quite acomplished to have had both of them featured in my school's website and Sketchfab collection as reference for future students:

One of my assignments for preproduction 2 . We were assigned to digitally paint a concept of a medieval abandoned tower based on different composition studies along with mood and color studies that were later applied on one composition of our choice.
My submission for the first assignment for preproduction 2. In this assignment we had to create a small tropical island scene displaying a cannon, a barrel and a prop of choice under a hard sunlight.
The following are some personal projects made prior to the start of my educational journey in Digital Arts and Entertainment. All of them were made as self study projects on 3D character sculpting, texturing and rendering as my passion for 3D art was amplifying at the time.
This project is a 3D recreation of the attached amazing illustration concept art by Gerrit Willemse. It was created back in 2021 and I had a lot of fun mainly experimenting with Substance Painter. The model was sculpted in Zbrush and rendered in Blender Cycles.

This is a sculpture of a prince character inspired from the 2D artwork "Le vicomte" of Samuel PIRLOT - PETROFF. The character was sculpted in Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Blender Cycles and some final touches were added in Photoshop.

I was inspired to sculpt this artwork after watching the video of "BoroCg" on youtube. It was first made as a 2D painting on his channel. My model was sculpted in Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Blender Cycles.

My choice to sculpt this character came after beeing inspired from the 2D artwork of "Ayzhan Mikhailova". This is my first stylized human character i have sculpted. The model was sculpted in Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Blender Cycles in 2021.
