Joaquim Marquardt Luesma - Concept Art - 2023

During my second year at FX Barcelona Film School I was tasked with creating two environments, I ended up deciding to make two very distinct scenarios, some mysterious alien ruins trapped in the desert and a small village in the woods.

I made this prop during my last semester at FX Barcelona Film School, where I had to create the weapon that the tooth fairy would use in an alternate universe, in which instead of picking up fallen teeth she breaks your cleanest tooth while your sleep.

I had to design this weapon for an underground lab I made during my last year at FX Barcelona Film School. I really liked the idea of combining futuristic technology with energy crystals, and this is the result!

For my creature design class I tried to make a mount for a character I was making, because the character in question is very small I decided to go for a mouse / rat.

During my last semester at FX Barcelona Film School I was given the task to create a character and it's vehicle, I chose to create an old fisherman and his boat, for this project I really dug deep when looking for references on Chinese boat design and the Cormorant Fishing technique.

I began this journey three years ago with very little to no prior drawing experience and thanks to the people that have been by my side I have improved drastically, thank you, I truly mean it.

First of all I really want to thank the teachers that I have had during this time studying Concept Art at FX Barcelona Film School, Elias Vázquez an artist in every regard and a true master, and Gerard Martínez an amazing 3D artist and an incredible teacher / role model.
