Hi everyone ! I'm Chloé Schmid and I'm a French student at Creative Seeds, a 3D school where I'm learning to rig and to modelize characters. So I'm ready to share with you my last works ! Let's go !

Meet Alain ! Alain is a beaver and one of the main characters of our short Movie "Homemade" realized during my last year at Creative Seeds. The concept and the character has been created by Leandro Leijnen and I was the one who rigged him.

I wanted to thank Youen Bouley for animating Alain up there, and of course every animators for giving life to Alain in our short Movie : Lilou Tiprez, Timothé Vergught and Lois Lusseau.

This was my most challenging character up to this day, because of the number of accessories on his outfit, the non-human blendshapes, the time to realize the rig on the entire character (1 month), and the fact that I needed to rig two characters at the same time for Homemade Movie.

Meet Pelote !

Pelote is the second main character of Homemade. She's a knitted mouse doll created and animated in step motion, by Alain. I was in charge to realize the concept, the modeling and the rigging of Pelote. The texturing and the Fur was made by Leandro Leijnen.

So the first step was to search references and create a concept of Pelote.

The difficulty was to make Pelote manageable despite her concept, but not so much, in order to avoid stretching the fur and textures.

My first Quadruped : Desoto !

Desoto is a character in Oliver & Co created by Walt Disney. Oliver, an adorable little orphan kitten, struggles to survive in New York City and must face a gang of criminal dogs led by a horrible villain. Desoto and his twin brother Roscoe are they "criminal dogs" led by Sykes.

The first difficulty was to recreate Desoto in 3D with 2D references. And the second was to think about the position to not overcomplicate the part of the rig.

I worked on Desoto from modeling to rendering, and I would also like to thank Antoine Barbannaud for his precious help with the lighting. This project was made on Maya, Substance Painter and Redshift Render. I used Nuke and After Effect for the compositing.

This was my first rig on quadruped. The challenge was to reinterpret the system on legs of a dog, and non-human blendshapes.

Young Hercules was my biped character of this third year in Creative Seeds.

I was inspired to recreate young Hercules of Walt Disney Animation Movie. The first step was to research references and draw a turn to make sure that the modeling could be the closest of the 2D version.

I worked on Hercules from modeling to rendering, but I would like to thank Leandro Leijnen for having done the texturing of this project. The softwares that I used were : Maya, Redshift Render, Nuke and After effect.

The challenge on this character was the transcription from 2D to 3D, and the rig of the skirt which was made with a nurbs and muscle in Maya.

I would like to thank my mentor Alexis Blanchard, my team of Homemade, and of course my other classmates. Thanks for your consideration, and I hope you enjoyed it !
