Arriflex 16 ST
This is my mentorship project I created during my final terms at Think Tank Training Centre. I had a lovely time creating it as a way to blend together my loves of old cinema and new technology.
Here is my model of an Arriflex 16 ST film camera that I created for my mentorship project at Think Tank Training Centre.
I have to thank my amazing mentor Jon Catapia for all his help and guidance throughout the creation process.
I am responsible for all aspects you see: from modeling it all in Maya, to texturing in Mari, and finally rendering everything together in Vray.

This asset was a labor of love from start to finish, but I am so so happy with how it turned out! My mentor and I really pushed the model to be as clean and optimized as possible, and despite the vast number of frustrations and scraped meshes I feel that all the effort was worth it.
Even still, I surprised myself even more with the texturing. I had no big aspirations for the textures going in, my mind was far more focused on executing the model the best I could, but I really am so proud of how the textures look. Sure, was my workflow not the fastest, and did I feel overwhelmed at many points, yes, but it only makes the result that much more rewarding! It also did wonders for my self-confidence and belief in my abilities as I begin new projects.
Well, if you have made it this far down the post, thank you so much for your time, and here is my full reel if you care to view it.
On to the next one!
