The Sultan's Table

The Sultan's Table is a basic concept design assignment that revolves around the story of Zayin, an ambitious young boy who dreams of becoming the world's top chef. In pursuit of his goal, he embarks on a journey to participate in a prestigious annual cooking competition, joined by chefs from all corners of the globe. Throughout his adventure, Zayin encounters new friends and a mentor who guide him, while simultaneously unraveling the hidden secrets shrouding the competition's true nature.

The Sarouja

The Sarouja is a renowned, luxurious restaurant that once belonged to Maleek until its disappearance, along with its owner, thousands of years ago. It remained buried under the sands until Zayin accidentally unearthed it, bringing it back to the surface. Now, they travel the world with this remarkable establishment, which magically soars through the skies with its palm leaf propellers.

Grandma Kibi

Grandma Kibi serves as the primary antagonist in the story. Despite her kind-hearted appearance, she is secretly malevolent, responsible for the theft of food ingredients from all around the world, leading to widespread hunger and corruption within the cooking competition.

Her entire design is inspired by the Kibi dango, which Momotaro utilizes to recruit his beastly companions in the Japanese folktale. In this narrative, she manipulates her grandson, Momota, whom she discovered as a baby inside a peach that had grown outside her house, coercing him to partake in her malevolent deeds.

Here is a little short storyboard and a key art that I made showing the climax scene after our 2 protagonists defeated what they thought was the villain. However, the ever so kind Grandma Kibi reveals herself to be the one behind the whole problem and starts attacking them with Dango balls.

Fuchsia En Fleur 

"Fuchsia En Fleur" is a group visual development project that I completed last semester. Set in the enchanting world of Recolta, the story centers around a girl named Fuchsia, who possesses the ability to awaken souls through naming. When a witch witnesses Fuchsia unintentionally bestowing life upon a tree by using her own name, the witch becomes determined to capture her loved ones and manipulate her psychologically to obtain this power.

Character Design

Freya is a disguise crafted by the witch to blend into the village. Through the eyes of the villagers, she appears to be a renowned artisan who operates a small bookstore, specializing in magical books. However, she is seldom present, often away from home on most days.

Creature Design

Ancier is a Hallow, owned by Freya, who was severely neglected as she used him as a slave to transport her books to clients worldwide.

Prop Design

The Umbra Archives is a dark grimoire that Freya rip off from the corpse of a High Priestess. However, because the grimoire was bind to her with a powerful magic, she rips off her hands together with the book.

Machine Design

The Mona Lettera 32 is a magical typewriter that specializes in creating grimoires. Made as a tribute to honor the great mage Mona, it has the power to infuse magical energy from the author's fingertips to the letters of the script.

Enchanté de Freya

Freya's magical bookstore. In order to live her double life, Cordelia stole a tiny bookstore run by a small family and uses it to sell her magical grimoires to other witches. What used to be a homely and well-taken care of store now turns to be dusty and worn-down due to her laziness in organizing the whole store.

Frozen Tears

Fuchsia, feeling sad and dejected, cries her way back home from her local school in the small rural village in the valleys as the other villager kids laugh at her from the distance.

Betrayal in the Woods

The boy Fuchsia followed the suspicious girl Fuchsia to the woods, but as soon as he reached ‘Fuchsia’, she suddenly summoned an ice cage and kidnaped the boy.

Uncanny Delivery

"Uncanny Delivery" is a concept design project set in a futuristic solarpunk world. The story follows our main character, Bobby, who operates a Boba food truck. While on a delivery to a prestigious biotech company, Bobby unintentionally activates an AI machine capable of manifesting a living creature based on a person's personality. Determined to assist the enigmatic creature in escaping, Bobby embarks on a journey, simultaneously unraveling the corrupt truth concealed within the renowned company.

Bobby Chen and his cousin Dola Chen runs a boba tea food truck that goes around the city.

Creature Design

After accidentally activating the AI machine, Bobby creates an Ae-va creature based of his personality and his daily needs.
