The Underwood Model 5, introduced in 1899, is the result of nearly thirty years of typewriter innovation and improvement. For the next thirty years, it was the ubiquitous office machine, and its sales propelled Underwood to market dominance. The Model 5 set the modern standard for how a typewriter worked and looked.

I used Autodesk Maya to create the initial blockout and then refined it in ZBrush by sculpting intricate details. Marmoset Toolbag was used because it provided more precise control than Substance Painter. The asset was fully textured using Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag. To achieve the highest level of quality for close-up detail shots, I used 4K maps.
