Ang's Concept Art & Design
Hello! My name is Angelica, I've always wanted to jump in the creative industry since young because bringing whatever I imagine into something real is exciting to me. Enjoy my recent works!
Simurgh
A personal project where I focus on colors the most, its concepts are based on the idea of middle eastern designs in a sci-fi setting.
Paramedic Design
I wanted to create a healer character that handles emergency situations, leading to me designing a paramedic. He carries multiple equipment and tools that helps him in his profession, so his design is very technical and practical based.
Police Design
For this character I wanted to design the opposite of the paramedic so she's more combat oriented, leading her to be designed as a police of sort for the city they're in. She's more aesthetically designed focus unlike the paramedic to prevent her from looking too menacing.
Environment Design
To match the middle eastern aesthetic I implemented into the characters, I tried incorporating a city into the desert, but to make it more liveable I thought of designing a pipe which pulls the water from underground to the city which ended up as my final idea of a city with water circulating through it to be recycled and reused.
Then I focus more on whats going on in the city, and decided to show a train station within. This concept was made as a game in mind which is why there's UI in this.
Ranma
A concept project of mine based on the Tibetan monks.
The story is about a boy who's fed up with the strict rules, studies and manners needed to be followed in the temple, which left a certain bird annoyed enough to teach the kid himself.
This was the first time I mixed stylised design with some realistic textures, while learning how to exaggerate the shape language and silhouette to show the character's personality.
Bird Design
I tried to visualise how wise and knowledgeable the bird is in its's design, as well as fitting him in a temple like environment so I tried putting him together with a prayer wheel.
Admittedly a lot of trial and errors happen which led to numerous sketches.
Child Design
To contrast the bird, I tried to make the boy's design to be more agile, and active. Since he's technically a monk I tried putting him in an outfit that resembles that look but doesn't restrict his movements at all.
Environment Design
The temple design should be reflected with the character's designs so I experimented on the colors and shapes to suit well with the residents within.

Compositions
To further my studies I tried to make numerous artworks so I can understand compositions better.
I grow really fond of the stylised art style which can be seen here.
and these are the matte paintings I've done, where I try to control the lighting within the scene to highlight the focus.
Lampmaker
A project that took place in a post apocalyptic world where the sun was gone, which leads the surface to be cold and dark, so to contrast that setting I made the characters to be lamp makers, touring the surface and providing lamps or goods to travellers, the clothes were made to be thick and can stand against the cold, so they have multiple layers on them, but still easy to move in.
This is the first time I learn to develop concept in a more realistic finishing with photobashing.
Redwood
Arachuae, one of the monsters residing in the swamp within the woods, its designed with the idea of a human morphed into a monster that resembles an octopus with enough muscle to crush people with its tentacles.
Key Shots
Moments within the story.
This one features the alchemist I made doing her work within her workshop, surrounded with books and tools.
This features a different character stealing from a church official and being chased by guards.
And this is a poster I made for the story.
