This is my final project for the foundations term at Think Tank Training Centre. The concept I chose was made by the amazing Zeen Chin(https://www.artstation.com/artwork/lRWY4G). We were tasked to create a Single frame in cg from a 2d concept.

(Time Spent: 1 month)

This is my final project for the foundations term at Think Tank Training Centre. The Concept belongs to the amazing Zeen Chin , I loved the look of the concept and thought it would be challenging  and would help me learn a lot which it did. This was the first time I had created a Character and loved every step of it.

Concept and Comparison:

I tried matching my scene  with the concept as best as I could . Matching perspective was defiantly the hardest part of this project.

Blockout:

Used simple shapes to blockout evrything before starting to add details.

Polish Modelling and Sculpting:

The project didn't require  a lot of sculpting except the characters and clothes. Bringing the character into ZBrush for sculpting. The process took a week as I had to learn how to sculpt a head and cloth from scratch . I modelled everything to as much details as i could in Maya and then too it to zbrush to add details. Using Dynamesh, Zremesher, for refining the high-poly details and exporting a low-poly version back to Maya.

Texturing and Look Development:

I used Mari to texture the entire scene. I used projection in Mari to paint the details on the objects and then used them as guides to hand paint the details for a higher quality. I wanted to achieve the Lighting contrast and shadows as much as possible with the lights only without it being a part of the texture which meant a lot of light linking and light blockers. And finally I used and environment fog to match the washed out look of the concept.
