Laura Zvilna | Environment Art and Props
A showcase of my prop and environment work from 2022-2023 (except the car, which is from 2021).
Introduction!
Hello! I'm Laura and I study at Digital Arts and Entertainment in Belgium. And this is my entry for Rookie Awards 2023! With this entry, I tried to showcase my skills in making props, environments and tools for artists!
I'm really intrigued by merging technical skills like scripting, material creation, blueprinting and proceduralism with Environment creation. I'm dedicated to continuing to grow my skills in this field.
Porche 911
To kick things off, I present you the high poly car I made last year! It was very challenging but at the same time also very awarding.
Reference for creating the car as close as possible to the real deal.
Screwdriver BAHCO 8865
This was the first time I went through the whole pipeline of making a highly detailed, realistic game asset and I learned a lot. It was very fun to make all the small details and try to stay as close as possible to the actual real-life screwdriver but still make it optimized for it to be game ready.
Texture maps that were made in Substance Painter.
ArzhViz Interior
For this piece, I wanted to create something simple looking, but complex enough to have some kind of story. I focused on making a realistic composition that makes it seem like there's an actual person that uses this room. It was my first time dealing with baked lighting, but I think for it to be the first time, it turned out great! None of the assets are made by me, except for some of the decals on sticky notes that you'll see later.
Decals I made to tell more of the story of this room.
Cyberpunk inspired Environment
This was created for a class in which we had to create a Sci-Fi environment. I chose the Cyberpunk theme because I'm very fascinated by the usage of light in that specific style. It was the first ever Environment that I created in Unreal Engine.
All the assets that I made to create this environment.
External Assets.
Batch Processor for Modular Workflow
In Scripting 2 we had an assignment to create a Batch Processor that runs over folders with objects and makes them modular, for example, snaps them to the grid, moves the pivot point etc.
Documentation of the Batch Processor Tool.
