The Map Merchant

This piece 'The Map Merchant' was  created for my Foundation term final project at Think Tank based on the original concept by Graey Erb.

I fell in love with the storytelling of the concept, it made me wonder - who is he selling the maps to ; might he be selling treasure maps or ancient ones! Choosing this concept was like taking up a challenge. I was able to learn a lot in just 4 weeks!

Everything from modeling to compositing was done within 4 to 5 weeks. I had done the modeling in maya and sculpted the details in mudbox, as for texturing it was done while moving back and forth into mari and maya to keep up with the updated materials. Rendering was done in Vray and the compositing in Nuke and photoshop. With all this I achieved the final look!
