Character Design

This is the first part of a series of original character designs, each coming with its art sheet of expressions, color palette, and unique character traits. My experience as a children's book illustrator allows me to specialize in vibrant and stylized cartoon characters, with a strong emphasis on seeking expressivity through shapes and colors.

Environment Concept Art

The next process is a project carried out during the Concept Art and Character Design Master's program that I am currently pursuing as part of my initiation into professional studies within this field. The project is focused on the creation of environments through thumbnails, value work, and color to ultimately achieve the final design with color rendering and the use of lighting.

The next process is another project carried out during the Concept Art and Character Design Master's program. The project is centered on the creation of a stylized sinister house with a touch of cartoon and a previously chosen modern theme. It must go through its versions as a normal house, a sinister version, and finally its stylized version in grayscale.

Artwork Showcase

The following illustration exhibition consists of my original works, based on Character Design in both fantastical and everyday situations. These are vibrant scenes set in whimsical fantasy environments. My goal was to try to reflect emotions and various situations through their compositions.

These pieces were created during my progress as a self-taught artist before I began my recent formal studies, and they are the works that have gradually shaped my identity as an illustrator and character creator at this early stage of my career.

The second part of my original Character Design consists of its art sheet of expressions, color palette, and unique character traits. The purpose of this work is to create harmony between the character and its environment through a cohesive color palette.

Character Creation: Design Showcase

This is the complete process of a project conducted during the Master's program in Concept Art and Character Design. This project reflects the production process of creating a realistic character in a post-apocalyptic futuristic era based on a brief. It includes everything from the iteration of shapes, color, expressions, and prompts to the final process of the character design.

Character Design: Imaginative Concepts

This work was carried out during the Master's program in Concept Art and Character Design. The project is based on the creation of thematic character silhouettes and shapes through values and form language. The goal is to push proportions and shapes to their maximum expression, whether through round, square, or triangular shapes.

The defined themes were Soldiers and Witches in a stylized genre. The work was completely done in grayscale and values.

This creation process is based on forming shapes through the limitation of silhouettes and values that generate internal contrast and can represent figures of both male and female medieval soldiers.

Rendering: Textures and Materials

This work was conducted during the Master's program in Concept Art and Character Design. The project is based on rendering textures of various elements and objects through the use of light and shadow, depending on the interaction with the material, whether it's reflective, translucent, or matte.

Character Design Final

The third and final part of my original Character Design is set in a stylized cartoon style. The characters are composed of their art sheet of expressions, color palette, and unique character traits.
