Round of applause for our sponsors

"It was a sunny day in 1982 in Blackridge County. At that time, it was mid-autumn; the tree leaves were falling, the birds were singing, and the squirrels were running everywhere. After school was over, 7-year-old Amy Brown was going home through the same neighbourhood she goes to every day. But when she got near the abandoned factory road, she saw something unusual. The road was opened, and there were red balloons along the road that goes deeper into the forest.

Even though her mother has warned her not to go near the factory, Amy couldn't resist after seeing those lovely balloons. She went deeper and deeper into the forest, following the balloon path. That was the last time anyone saw or heard from her. Only one shoe and the blood-covered Amy's bag were the only things the search party could find near the abandoned factory... "

BREAKDOWN REEL

For this project, I used Cinema 4D to build the environments and Octane to render them. Materials and assets are from Quixel Megascans and Kitbash 3D. DMP, colour grading, and post-production were done using Adobe Photoshop. The breakdown reel was made using Adobe Premiere Pro. All of the process details are shown in the breakdown reel.

In this project, I wanted to focus mostly on building an environment suitable for a mystery story. In this, I tried incorporating theories of how to use shadow side camera placement and lighting, depth of field, and motivated lighting.

For some of the moss and vines, I used Photoshop to matte paint them. Through the colour grading and the glare, I wanted to give the feeling that these images were captured from an actual film.

Thank you for watching..!!
