Newport Folk Festival Opening Titles

These are mock opening titles for the Newport Folk Festival, created for a concept storyboarding class. The subject represented is Taylor Meier, lead singer of the band Caamp, who will be headlining the 2023 festival. We follow him past iconic Newport landmarks as he makes his way to the stage at Fort Adams Park. In animating, I didn't so much want the figure to move, but to lean into the tactile, textural element by laying each layer down like cut-out paper dolls and houses.
