The Fair Food Program - Consumer Powered, Worker Certified
This was a PSA assignment for a typography class where I chose to focus on the underreported topic of migrant farm work. I resisted the temptation to tell this story through illustration, instead using geometric shapes that echoed agricultural themes. The voiceover was volunteered by José Eduardo Arellano Diaz.
As an undergraduate journalism student, migrant farm work was the subject of my capstone project. 10 years later as a motion design student, I am revisiting the topic through this PSA for the Fair Food Program.
My intention was to use lines and circles to recall field rows and tomatoes, without representing those visuals directly.
Migrant justice is an issue relevant to all Americans, particularly in the area of agriculture. I hope this video leads at least one person to read up on it.
