Since I was little I have liked videogames and art... Now I can be able to create enviroments and objects in 3d, with a story behind. Next I'm going to present an environment, a stylized prop and a realistic prop that I have been developing in the master of VoxelSchool.

Round of applause for our sponsors

Hello everyone! I am Daniela Castro and I am going to present the projects that I have been developing these last months in the master that I have completed.

I'm very excited to explain a bit the process of each of the projects, so let's get started!

Detective's Room:

This is my first environment that I have been developing in Unreal 5, an office of a detective who is solving one of his numerous cases. It is a realistic interior setting, to which I wanted to give a vintage aesthetic when making the final renders.

Breakdown / Work in Progress:

When I started to create the environment, I took the reference from Leo Aveiro's concept.

Firstly I started with the blockin in 3Ds Max and little by little I set up the scene in Unreal 5 so that all the objects matched and I could gradually work on the lighting.

Then I focused on the materials of the whole room so that it "started to take shape" and then I began to detail the objects in the scene such as the filing cabinets, the desk or the cupboard.

I designed the detective's board to tell the story of this case: a robbery that ended in murder, for a very valuable necklace belonging to royalty.

In addition, details such as the bottle of whiskey, the books or the sneakers are from megascans.

Next I am going to show all the objects that I modeled to set up the environment.

Finally, I focused on the lighting to create that "ray of god" effect with the volumetric fogstrategically place points of warm light where I wanted to highlight the scene, (like the window or the detective's board) and I put a LUT, so that the whole scene was unified and generated that contrast with the cold areas.

Amber Axe:

This is one of my latest props that I've been modeling, an amber axe. It is inspired by the concept of Adam "Forange" Törn.

The prop is modeled in 3ds Max and sculpted in Zbrush; textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset 4. It is a stylized prop, which I wanted to give it a fantasy aesthetic, that's why in the final render I added some little fairies.

For the high, I did the blocking in 3ds Max and sculpted it in Zbrush. The brushes I used the most were: TrimDynamic, Planar, OrbFlatten, OrbCracks and ClayBuildup.

When making the amber, I used two different geometries in Marmoset 4, to use one with more gloss and less opacity in order to achieve that translucent effect.

Record Player:

This record player is a realistic style prop. It's modeled and animated in 3ds Max; textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset 4.

When making the composition, I wanted to give it several environments. The first, as if it were in a product photographic state, the second as if it were on the floor of a warm room and the third as if it were in front of a window with a cooler light.

To give a more dynamic finish, I wanted to animate the part of the platter. To do this, I looked at all the parts that had to be moved for the tonearm to reach the vinyl disc. First you have to remove the tornarm rest, then put on the cueling lever and finally move the tornarm to play the vinyl disc.

This record player is inspired by a Crosley model.

Finally...

I hope you liked these three projects! I've learned a lot developing them and I'm proud of the process behind, just to say thanks to those who have supported me during the process.
