A virtual production short film: A young woman wanders through the madness of her gloomy everyday life and experiences only brief moments of redemption - during her coffee break.

An overworked and underpaid office worker is fighting her way through the endless hallways of a surreal office building - just a shimmering goal in the distance to keep her going. a sign of hope? The promise of absolution? Or just a short break from this endless repeat of misery?

Pre-production / concepts

Construction plans and concepts for production design:

Environment "office hell" built with Unreal Engine 5 for lightweight and smooth virtual production on LED volumes:

Set / Shooting days

Lensgrid shooting for recreating the stunning anamorphic look with ALEXA Mini LF and Cooke Anamorphic /i fullframe plus 1.8x

ICVFX (in-camera virtual production) volume setup with two LED panels: 10m x 4m curved wall and 4m x 5m ceiling panel. Created and Operated with Unreal Engine 5 and its Virtual Production tools. 

Postproduction

Paintovers done on filmed footage for further defining compositing and color moods in postproduction:

Cleaned-up and retouched photogrammetry scans on on-set props. Used for high res postproduction renders:

Compositing work on top of ICVFX and bluescreen footage:

Postproduction FX simulation work on different assets - such as debris, asset destruction and falling stone parts or A4-papers:
