A Forest Temple

My portfolio showcases work inspired by Japan. During my trip to Japan, I was captivated by its unique atmosphere, which motivated me to create this portfolio. With a strong interest in environmental design, I focused on creating an outdoor environment portfolio.

Before creating this portfolio, I gathered various references. I started by working on the first scene featuring a lamp, collecting references of old Asian lamps. I created the base model using the Maya program and refined the details using ZBrush.

After that, I proceeded to model the silhouette of the buildings for the background and further developed the scene to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the lamp.

In the second scene, we modeled a garden adorned with flowers and trees. The flowers were created in Maya, and we captured the actual flower textures through photography for their realistic appearance. As for the trees, we utilized a software called SpeedTree for their creation, and the wind simulation within SpeedTree was used to generate the natural swaying animation.

I captured a photograph of a real person and utilized keying techniques in Nuke to composite and integrate it into the scene.

In the last scene, we meticulously modeled the awe-inspiring Japanese castle. The trees were created using SpeedTree, while the terrain was crafted with World Creator.

To ensure optimal efficiency, we used modular modeling techniques throughout the project.
