New World Order
This is my final project for the Foundation Term at Think Tank Training Centre: a 3D recreation of a 2D artwork. Concept was Done by Antonio Javier Caparo
I started by choosing a 2D artwork that I liked and wanted to recreate in 3D, by Antonio Javier Caparo. I then used Maya to create the base mesh of the scene, using the painting as a reference, Then I also used xGen to make the hair.
Next, I used Mudbox to sculpt the details of the objects and characters in the scene, such as the wrinkles and folds. I also used Photoshop to create some alpha maps for the sculpting process.
Then, I used Substance Painter and Mari to texture the scene, using different materials and maps to create the color, specular, bump and displacement effects. I also used Photoshop to edit some of the textures and add some details.
Finally, I imported the scene into Vray and set up the lighting and camera settings to match the painting. I also added some post-processing effects in Photoshop to enhance the final image.
I’m very satisfied with how the scene turned out, and I’m proud of what I learned in this project.
