Honey Poops - ZAPPING short movie

SYNOPSIS

The day has just started and the bees get ready for work. Through a wild dance, they create wonderful honey poops cereals. In the bathroom, Keven gets ready for school. He takes a cotton swab to clean his ears and crushes the bees that were in. That’s where the earwax comes from !

The inspiration to our movie came from a cereals TV ad ''Honey Pops''. We wanted to do a parody of this commercial with a catchy music that everyone would enjoy no matter their age.

The writing of the screenplay took 1 month and the pre-production another one. The production was done in 6 weeks. Every stage of the movie was done interely by us, from scratch.

We used as softwares Autodesk Maya, Pixar Renderman, Mudbox, ZBrush, MARI, NukeX, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Pro-Create, XGen, Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve.

The song was composed by the producer Olivier Bres and the lyrics performed by Ceanie Aouba, Nawel Boudouni and Liselotte Allard as the bees and Romain Fleisher as Keven.

Here is some of the research we did in character design and environment. We knew from the beginning we wanted something very cartonished with realistic shading.

We wanted the design of each character to visually match their personality.

Our 4 characters: Beeyonce , Barnabee , Stebee and Keven.

Having two sets, we wanted some contrast between them; we came with the bee-hive (or the interior of the ear), with honey and skin shaders and very warm colors. And in contrast, we have the bathroom with very cold colors but some patterns that resemble the beehive, creating a connection between the two sets and setting both of them in the same universe.

We were six people creating this amazing project and we loved every minute of it. We are very happy and proud for working together and with the result we had in the end.
