Sisyphus: 3D Shortfilm by Luis Marroquín
I created Sisyphus because I wanted to make an animated short film with a theme that was not conventional in animation: terror. But not just any terror, I wanted to create a terror that arouses curiosity about the details within the story. Sisyphus is my first short film, and I hope you enjoy it!
Sisyphus: 3D ShortFilm
I created Sisyphus because I wanted to make an animated short film with a theme that was not conventional in animation: terror. But not just any terror, I wanted to create a terror that arouses curiosity about the details within the story. I wanted to create a short film that you could watch over and over again and discover something new about the characters and the reality that I created.
Sisyphus is my first short film, and I hope you enjoy it!
Sinopsis
Raúl, an arrogant and disrespectful office worker, prepares for a new day at work. However, his daily life and his vision of the reality that surrounds him will be completely destroyed, this when he hears some sudden knocks coming from the trunk of the car.
Storyboard
Modelling & Rigging
I created all the models, assets, and textures for the short film from scratch.
I created the models, rigging, weight painting, and UV correction almost entirely in Maya. I created the textures in Photoshop and Substance. I also did some previews and quick tests in Cinema 4D.
Process
I used the V-Ray Personal Learning Edition for the render. I used Nuke for the composition of the shoots and After Effects for the motion graphics. I studied Audiovisuals in college, so I try to use my knowledge of cinematography, composition, and lighting to create a nice and original lookdev.
Teaser Trailer
I want to create a full anthology series of horror short films, and Sisyphus is the first. I hope you enjoy it, and I wish me luck with the others.
