Portfolio 2023 - Pooria Hosseini
A year has passed and I was able to finish some projects which I'm excited to share in this entry, My main focus was on learning new skills in modeling, texturing and rendering. I experimented with with both cinematic and real time workflows which was a lot of fun.
Watcher of The Ruined Nest
In this project I tried to make a complete scene inspired by City of Tears in Hollow Knight and I reimagined the area with some new elements. It's rendered in Arnold and I used XGen and MASH to generate fur and raindrops. The AOVs were composited later in Nuke for better control on atmospheric fog and intensity of raindrops motion blur, also some color corrections and post processing were done to get the mood I was looking for !!
The Grunt
It was modeled for the Adobe's robot challenge, I made some changes in the design of the original concept to make it look more friendly rather than a cold-blooded robot, but I don't think it worked !! I used substance painter for texturing and Nuke for compositing of the rendered background with the robot, and some color corrections.
Amaranthine
A texturing project for Autodesk's RIG.B contest. This time I wanted to have faster and much cheaper workflow to iterate so I decided to use Unreal Engine 4 for look development. The model was provided by Autodesk, It had nearly 400k tris with 17 tiles of UDIM, I really had a hard time texturing it in SP since the real-time performance was beyond imagination and I didn't have much time to optimize the mesh and UVs !! Also, a lesson I learned was that I will not work on a model which I don't like again !! It was impossible to get ideas for it but I did my best anyway.
