Hi everyone! Here is my Advanced Term Final Project at Think Tank Online. The character is rendered in real time using Marmoset and is based on the beautiful concept by Yi Tang.

Round of applause for our sponsors
I would like to thank my amazing supervisor (and soon to be mentor) Luís Omar for all of his guidance and encouragement throughout the whole project. Also shout-out to my amazingly supportive classmates, friends and family.

Below shows the transition from the blockout stage to the high poly stage. The main goal with the blockout is that it should look like the finished character before posing from afar.

For clothing I like to make my base mesh in marvelous designer and then bring it into zbrush. Apart from that, everything else is modelled in zbrush.

When I was happy with the body and face I took a base mesh from 3d Scan Store and then used Zwrap to morph the mesh to match my sculpt. After this I did some clean up and added in some detail on things like the lips.

I then baked the height map in zbrush to avoid artefacts with things like the mouth being closed and the fingers being too close together. I brought the baked height map and the other textures into substance painter and did a lot of work on top of them to get the look I wanted.

After the high poly was finished I moved on to retopologising and Uv unwrapping. Then brought everything into substance painter to bake all my maps and then start texturing.

For her hair I used my blockout and extracted edges from it to generate some curves that were then coverted to guides for the groom. I used a lot of modifiers like clumping, noise and cut to create the final look.

For the fur on her hood I just generated short guides and angled them in different directions to show the direction of the hair growth. When I was happy with the groom it was time to convert it to geo and bring it into marmoset. It was important at this stage to make sure I watched my cv count and density to keep the poly count as low as possible so I could render in marmoset.

And then I was time to Look Dev, pose and render!

In conclusion I really enjoyed this project and I very proud of it. I am so exited now to be going into my mentorship term at Thinktank! I hope you enjoyed the little breakdown and like the project as much as I do. Thanks for reading!!!
