Global Nomads / Hospitality Project
"In Between borders of continents, you are you." To the Global Nomads, people who are from 'Everywhere and Nowhere.' this Transnational Hospitality experience finds you revitalized and refigured.
Cultural marginality: situations and feelings of passive betweenness when people exist between two different cultures and do not yet perceive themselves as centrally belonging to either one is becoming a more significant issue.
Reception
Inspired by the train station leading the guest to the start of the journey and also to the transition hall.
Transition Hall
Providing the guests the feeling of traveling to the next destination through the look of the vestibule/ train carriage hallway. The reflective surface of the wall captures the forest site of Marietta, which enables the guest to be immersed with nature.
Amenity Shop
Inspired by the Yurt which is where the Nomads live. Nomads get their skylight through the Moohooring. Custom light representing the Moohoo skylight was designed. The Light color will change throughout the day like how the sun rises and sets in the Yurt.
Scent immediately brings memory. The journey starts with users guided to their curated scents, which will be used during the entire stay. The scent that lingers on body and mind will encapsulate memory and will be carried within the users.
Restaurant
The Moohooring and the two spokes poles that root the crown ring to the ground are important symbols that makes the Nomads settle whenever they move and also a place where the stove is located for cooking and ventilation.
Private Dining
Guest Suite
Custom-designed wall full of cultural pattern that also works as wall lighting makes the guest fully experience the Өлзий хээ (Alkhan khee) = Mongolian historical.
Өлзий хээ (Alkhan khee) = Mongolian historical pattern originated from hammer seal which varies to 110 patterns.
The way these patterns are created is by the same pattern repeated endlessly through self-replication which connects to the concept of identity is something that can be revitalized and refigured.
