Fire-Breathing Dragon

This is my dragon I have created during my studies at uni. This is my first Dragon that I have created, a concept piece showcasing the head of the creature.

My Process

Using procreate, I sketched up the design of the dragon and blocked out some colours I may have used later on.

Next I blocked out the head in Zbrush, then once I was happy with the block out, I started with the details. at first the head was centred, but wanting to get the feel of the dragon turning his neck to look at the viewer, I turned the head around. Once I was happy with the head, I started blocking out some colour. I wanted to go for a pale red and brown, as this was a fire breathing dragon, red would be a colour to represent this.

After positioning the head so we could see the side of the head, I exported the renders of this creature into Photoshop and finalised the dragons head, adding they eyes, background and a few more details to the colour and hair etc.

Bug Creature

This is my bug creature I created during my studies at uni. This is a sci-fi creature concept for a mask which then would be used later on in film. I created this with the mindset of where the head of the actor will be placed and where animatronic parts will be used.

My Process

I first sketched out the creature in photoshop, I ended up with three pages of creatures, trying to find one which would work for the project. I tried to create a creature who looked evil, as a sort of evil henchman, using an insect rather than another type of animal as reference to get this effect.

I then blocked out the creature in Zbrush, making sure I had an human head and shoulders underneath so I knew I was modelling the mask to the right proportions. After blocking out this creature, I then started to add details to the face and neck. I then added some colours, playing around with a few different colours until I found the right ones which matched, going with simple colours and complex details rather than complex colours and simple details.

After getting the details and colours right, I exported the renders into photoshop and fixed up some of the light, details and the eyes.

Redesign Of Audrey II From Little Shop Of Horrors

This is my redesign of Audrey II from the Little Shop Of Horrors I created during my studies at uni.

My Process

First I sketched out a few ideas for redesigns of different horror creatures, Im a massive horror movie/game fan so I created many, but decided to try and redesign Audrey II.

I then blocked out and started to model in Zbrush, starting off with the head and neck, then leaves and finally the pot. Once I was happy with how the block out looked, I started to add details to the design. After the details were added, I added texture and colours to the creature, I tried to stay to the colour pallet of the original design of Audrey II as I decided this was a good way to connect the two designs.

After I was happy with how the creature looked in Zbrush, I exported all the rendered files into photoshop and fixed the lighting, details and added the eyes.
