My Capstone Project about stressed out woman, her tormenting monster, and her loving stray pet. The film shows the feasibility of animal assisted interventions in the Philippines using stray pets, an area in the body of research not fully explored.
Nema the Aspin is a story about a young woman dealing with stress and her pet aspin’s attempt to defeat a monster that’s hurting its owner.

An "aspin" or "askal" is a Filipino term for mixed breed dogs in the Philippines. The term "aspin" is a portmanteau of "asong Pinoy" or "Philippine dog" while the term "askal" is a portmanteau of "asong kalye" or "street dog."
Aspins are often stray dogs that many consider as lesser than purebred dogs. This film aims to portray aspins as effective pet therapy just many pets in the world.
