Character and creature designs that would fit into a third person action/horror game based on the short story "Dagon" by HP Lovecraft. Made at my internship at Mood Visuals.

First up is my take on the "Deep Ones" from the short story.

"Vast, polyphemus-like, and loathsome, it darted like a stupendous monster of nightmares to the monolith, about which it flung its gigantic scaly arms, the while it bowed its hideous head and gave vent to certain measured sounds"

My take on the main character on H.P Lovecraft’s story Dagon.

In the story the narrator is a US navy officer during first world war (1917). He is held captive on a German cargo ship for a while but manages to escape with German provisions on a escape boat. He sails for 3 days before he reaches a horrible island of a decaying black substance. This is the moment in the story I chose to depict. I chose to give him bandages on his hands, since he has been rowing. He is wearing German belts, bags and a jacket that he stole before leaving but he’s still wearing his American navy pants

Sea deity Dagon.

This deity is only indirectly mentioned in the story. The creatures from the deep ancient sea worship him, and he is enormous.
