Pedro Valim Portfolio
This is my first time using this site. Here are all of my best work I've made since I decided to become an 3D artist in 2019. I'm a Game Design graduate, everything that I learned of 3D was on my own or following courses and tutorials.
This is an enviroment I made for a contest where the prompt was to create a art piece with the theme AfroFuturism. The ideia for this work was to create a city inspire by Wakanda, as seen on the Marvel movies or comics.
It was the first time I've done something like this, and I was very happy with the results, but I still think there's a lot more to improve.
All assets were modeled in Blender, and the textures were taken from different sites like PolyHaven, CGBookCase and 3DTextures.
I used a variety of textures in the production of the assets, such as clay, wood and metal, giving a good visual variety in the final render, with clay and straw buildings alongside concrete and metal buildings.
I used the scatter node to scatter the various buildings, houses and trees around the scene, and then manually positioned the main buildings, clouds and mountains. Finally, I did a little post-production in Photoshop to correct the colors since my final render was a bit "gray".
Star Wars is one of my favorite IPs, so I decided to model the blaster used by the B1-Battledroids.
Decided to keep the Star Wars theme. This is a droid I modeled some time ago and decided to finish it. It's the ST Tatical Droid, seen on the Star Wars animated TV series.
This is one of my best works. This character is inspired by Curupira, from my country's culture. It was also my first time trying to model a character.
I still have to improve on my retopology as there were some issues on the hands and face, but for my first time, I think it's really good!
I learned a lot about how to model characters in the cartoon style. The highpoly and textures were made on Zbrush, and the retopology, UVs and shaders were all made on Blender.
This was my first attempt at using Maya. I decided to model the Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts.
All the textures were made on Substance Painter and the renders where made on Maya.
It is a 3D recreation of the weapon used by Percy, seen in the first season of Critical Role's Vox Machina show on PrimeVideo.
It was all modeled in Blender, and then I did the bakes and textures in Substance Painter, where I also did the renders.
Viking shield and axe I made for a course I was taking. It helped me learn a lot of how Blender worked, and how to texture and bake maps.
