Porcelain Blue

Final renders

After trying to pose the RIG.B in maya and encountering problems with the file not opening, I luckily was able to download 3DSMax and was able to pose RIG.B. I feel happy with what I have been able to make! 

Colour changes 

I decided to make the blues more vibrant on my robot as I felt it would provide a better base for when I place the designs onto the robot. Through experimentation I was able to create a gradient affect with two blue hues and felt this created a more interesting design for the robot.

I made a more in-depth mood board referencing robots, porcelain objects, and blue and white designs. I began blocking out the main colours of my robot. I needed to ensure that the main shade of blue I would go for would fit with the gold trimmings. 

Reference Board

This is my first reference board for my idea of what Im going to texture the RIG.B Robot. I came across pictures of stained porcelain and thought that would make for an interesting and unique direction to go. The contrast of such a massive robot with ceramics and delicate designs sounds like a fun prospect. Additionally, it would be good practise in learning how to make a material like ceramic look very realistic in 3D texturing.
