Introduction

Hi Everyone!

This is my first contest and I decided to participate because I love this mecha universe. Introducing "RIG.B N.O.V.A" as inspiration from Gundam, Evangelion and Transformers.

References

The first stage of this form is by far the most important to define how the complete composition would be made. And to facilitate and organize the reasoning I created different groups of references.

Texturing and Shading

Process Details

The main details textures of the character:

Albedo: In the painting process, I chose to do the whole combination of procedural and hand-painted approaches. Using the Soft Brush and Hard Soft at all times, taking care that the texture was not so generic in the parts of the robot.

Metalness/Roughness: For Roughness and Metalness I used procedural materials, tweaking the details so that it was smoother making a variation of large and small scales, with scratches and wear not being as apparent. So as not to interfere with viewing the painting.

Normals: Small depth tweaks to some parts of the Torso, Arms and Neck.

Emissives: For the Emissives, I created some alphas for the eyes and for the Exoskeleton and smoke. I didn't want to overdo the lighting so much that I gave the character too much information.
