The cooking robot

A turnaround of my robot + some details shots

How can my robot look like? What is he doing? Who is he? I started my process with a brainstorm and scribbling some ideas.

I decided for the cooking robot who fails at cooking. I started the sketching process to try out some ideas.

Still not satisfied I tried out the silhouette technique.

With new ideas I decided to sketch some new robots again!

The design of the robot should be simple, round for cuteness. A robot you would trust, a robot you would laugh with. Satisfied with the result I decided to make a more detailed sketch, trying out some colors. 

Yeiy, with the final design let's finally jump into 3D!

I decided to model the robot in C4D. I only used primitive object - the robot should be simple! For the arms & legs I used bend deformers, so you could easily animate him later.

Not it's time to jump into Substance Painter! First I decided for some basic materials and colors.

Some details I could just paint with other materials - masks are your best friend! 

Other details can be made easily by using Normal Maps.

I also layered dirt and other types of textures on top of the materials to make it more interesting. Somhow I liked the idea that the robot is dirty - not something you expect from a robot! 

And as a finishing touch I added the painted texture - lots of fruits and vegetables. 

I added the roboter into blender and lighted it.
