Raymond the reading robot

Hello there, this is my first time joining a rookie contest and I had lots of fun creating my model in Maya and Substance painter. My robot is based on the artwork; Cute Little Robot from Paweł Kania. 

First I looked up some reference for my robot. Mainly I based it on the artwork; Cute Little Robot from Paweł Kania. Then I decided to make the antennas go in and out like a toy lightsaber. For the eyes I wanted it to look like camera lenses.

After this research I started modeling my robot in maya. I also provided it with a rig so that I could later pose it.

Then I imported my model in Substance painter and gave it some nice textures.

After some painting, my robot goes back into maya for lighting and rendering.

Et voilà, here you have my little robot, reading his favorite book.
