Concept art 2021
Some of the work i've been doing for my master's degree.
Jalandri the Huntess
This is a character I created for my character design class. So I came up with Jalandri, a huntress that lives with her tribe in a tropical area. I drew inspiration from different cultures including Polynesian and the Caribbean Taino.
In the early iterations of this character i was playing with triangular and square shapes, so she wouldn't look as violent but still look like a strong individual. When experimenting with the color pallets most of them came out cooler than I intended so i decided to add more oranges and yellow to the design.

Splash Art
This is currently a work in progress but I wanted to show how its coming along. When I started, the initial idea was for Jalandri to be fighting with a monster in a storm. Based on this prompt I decided to experiment with poses and different angles. From there I chose the top 3 that had the most potential and played around with the values. Based on this I picked out the one with the best composition and added some color to see how it would look before I started rendering. Currently I'm polishing it and refining the piece.
Bukavhajira
This creature was a concept I originally started working for my creature design class. Since I already started with Jalandri, I decided to make it part of her story. When creating this design I drew inspiration from different folklore like the Japanese Bake-kujira and the Leviathan. When designing it I wanted to make it a deep sea creature so I went with a color palette associated with deep sea creatures and added some bioluminescent elements.
In early concepts I was working with shapes and proportions to make it look colossal and aggressive, a creature to be feared.
The Oracle
This was another design I made for my Character Design class. The idea was for it to be an other-worldly mystical entity. At first I experimented with different shapes and designs trying to make it fit but they didn't quite get there, they looked more like priests. So I decided to play with the head shape and make it look more inhuman and made the character floating instead of standing to add to that mysticism.
Isometric House
A small assignment i did for my perspective class, where i had to design an isometric building, I decided to go for a small cozy house that irradiated warmth.
Femme fatale
A character I desingned in my free time using the prompts: femme fatale, skeleton, fashion, fethers
