Round of applause for our sponsors

Hi everyone! This is a selection of the best projects that I've done in this last year on Houdini. It has been a challenge to learn Houdini this year but I also enjoyed it a lot. I hope you enjoy my demo reel and my beginning in this industry.

So I present you my 2022 Houdini DemoReel. I hope you like It!

GROOMING

This is one of my latest projects. This is my first time doing grooming and at first I wasn't sure how it would  come out, but now I can say I really enjoyed doing this project. It wasn't easy and it was a  challange to bring this on time for rookies, but I'm proud of the result.

I started doing all the groups (14 groups!) and then I focused on doing  realistic hair. The most difficult part was doing a realistic transition of every group but I think I  achieved my goal so it was worth the effort.

Thanks to Ziva Dynamics for this amazing animated lionesse.

Enjoy it!

MAIN TITLES

This is my first project with Houdini. In this project the main objective  was to learn how  shading, lighting, lookdev and cameras worked with Houdini.

This is maybe the most simple one compared to the other projects but at that moment it was also a challenge. This project, as someone that was working just with Maya it was really useful to get used to working with this new software and it was definitely an adventure. Although I could make a lot of the improvements now, this  was my beginning, so I hope you enjoy the result.

CROWDS

This project  was inspired on a scene of Game of Thrones.

The most difficult part was trying to controll every agent and that worked correctly. Also in this project I started testing with hightfields.

VELLUM

In this project I actually focused on developing a good drape pattern, so I couldn't work on the enviroment I much as I would have liked.

It was a really challenging project but also  real fun to do. Searching for sewing patterns and how vellum worked with Houdini was an adventure in itself.

It was a really artistic project and that is what  made it interesting. I started drawing the dress and every piece of cloth to get an idea at what I would need to do within Houdini. Now that I have more time I would definitely improve this project in lookdev and compositing. So follow my work because at any time this project might improve.

FLIP

Well this is my technical project. I decided  to do it technical because it was my firts time working with flips and I really wanted to understand how it worked.

I had so much fun learning how to work with this solver, but I am not gonna lie, it was hard as hell! Working with this amoung of particles was a real challenge and rendering it was way worse. As all my projects I render them with a laptop so you can imagine how hard and how much I had to work on the optimization of the render. But guys I survived although I can't say the same of my laptop.

Hope you enjoy the result!

PYRO

And last but not least important Pyro. This is one of my latest projects and I really enjoyed doing it.

I was inspired by the amazing video of Nico Vink: From the Ash (is in vimeo, check it out) my professor gave me the idea and I was really entuthiastic with it and also nervous at what  the result might be.

I worked with 4 simulation of fire and 1 of atmosphere volume to achieve this result. Also as you will see in the breakdown I worked a lot in the composition of this project.

I'm really happy with the result.  Hope you enjoy it!

Special thanks to my professors Ernest Monter, Enrique Zancajo and Francesc Bolló for the feedback. My projects woudn't have been the same without it.

Thanks for your time to watch my porfolio. Feel free to give me feedback!
