ASTRAY
Astray is our final year project, a fps made with Unity. There are four of us behind this project: Quentin Bosc, Emilie Barboiron, Héloïse Lunven, Mathias Bosc.
I gathered the different works I made during the whole year. I mainly did modular environment, props and procedural materials. But I also did rigging, animation and visual effects.
Mecha Design
MTG
During this project I was focused on hard surface modelling.
MTG is an assault machine, I made this enemy entirely except some animations . It was an opportunity to try the rigging system in blender.
Rigg Breakdown + Animations
A little breakdown to see how the rigg work on Blender. ;
I've also done two little animations for this character, the walk was quite complicated. I had to give an impression of heaviness and this required a lot of references and time.
Patrol drone
The second mecha design i've done, the rigg was a bigg problem. The result was pretty cool but unfortunetly there is no animation for the drone due to lack of time , only procedural movement with unity packages.
VFX
With this project i discovered new vfx tools on unity like the vfx graph and the shader graph that i've never use.
There are vfx for the player's weapon's and ennemies but also environmental.
Material
This year i'm litterally fell in love with procedural texture. The workflow is a bit difficult at the begining but so pleasant with the time. The flexibility and power of nodes are so interesting . Hard surface material are pretty fun to begin and experiment rather than organical to begin.
Environment
Environment was the most important part that i've done during the production. Use the modular workflow was essential and i've learn so much ( and multiple headache for the perfect snap of the assets ).
Genesis
Genesis is the place where our game take place. It's a wreckedge of a luxurious space station.
In game view the hdri in background was done by Emilie barboiron
Restaurant
This is an large open battle place. Very proud of the design of floors and archs.

A massive zone full hard surface and very pleasant to do.

Thank you so much for looking at my work, I have learned so much this year, this is not perfect but i'm very proud of my progress curve.
Can't wait to start working as a game artist.
