Mercedes-Benz Commercial

hello! My name is Camilo Gutierrez and I am currently a student in the M.A. of visual effects in SCAD. With this project I wanted to explore the areas of lighting, composition and color correction which are my areas of interest. Inspired by the experience generated by the lighting of the SCAD XR Stage (virtual production studio, similar to the one used in productions such as The Mandalorian or The Batman), I wanted to achieve a photorealist project with which I could work in a fully developed pipeline in ACES and allowed me to play with different environments. Under the commercial car format, I wanted to simulate the lighting of the XR Stage and obtain a project as if it had been shot on film with anamorphic lenses.

References

The references were very important to me, since I wanted to achieve a project where you could appreciate all the textures in the image that film recording with anamorphic lenses produces in a space of LED walls like the XR Stage. For this reason I was inspired by several car commercials, and exhibitions that use LED walls.
