Round of applause for our sponsors

In 2020 everyone’s life drastically changed due to COVID-19. This global pandemic inspired me to create plague doctor masks that reflect the struggles we have endured. These masks are a blend of the past and the present. The connection between the two is the misconception and false information we received daily on COVID much like the false information that was spread during the Black Death in 1346. They believed back then that wearing the bird-like mask and filling it with Theriac (flowers and herbs) would prevent them from getting the Plague which was believed to be spread through “bad air” called miasma. Today we might think that we would not believe in such silly lies however people believed that drinking or bathing in bleach would protect you against COVID. People never fail to prove how gullible we can be.

I created a cell animated flower to be put on top of the 3D mask. I wanted to combine my two favorite animation styles.
