ZTATERA and my journey as a concept artist

Welcome to a quick introduction to ZTATERA a Web Interactive comic project born back in 2014

ZTATERA is a story about religion and fantasy. It is set on a contemporary world, related with our latest technology and culture.

The world is set on cruel war born by economic disputes between countries. Too much people has died and the future looks darker everyday. The 8 greater gods of the world got tired of this non-sense and started to take actions. The apocalypsis has begun and they are purging impure souls. 

The world has changed and everything is different now. The light are now reigning the world, however the dark side is not happy with this and will take balance on their own.

What makes this different?

This is not a story about how the "good side" is the right one, the heroes or the happy end. ZTATERA is a story about how we need the good and the bad, the light and the dark in order to have a balance on our life. ZTATERA is focused on the "bad side" and to show how they are good on their own way. 

The best of it, is the viewer will take part on the development of the story, taking decisions and choices that will affect on the next chapter and the character destiny.

When Ztatera came to my mind, I was fully inspired on creating different characters and personalities for them. Those are some old designs with a very amateur art style, but I like them because I can compare them in the future with a new and better design.

Bersak, the Supreme Commander

Bersak is a demon, linked to the main family of Hell. He is the Supreme Commander of the Legion, the hell's military. He stands out for his leadership ability and strength and has a rival relationship with his brother Ozer.

Bersak has won many battles as a commander, this has given him a prestigious and feared name in all corners of hell. He is calm but does not hesitate to act when he needs to.

The redesign of Bersak

Same as me and my evolution with digital art and as a concept artist, I like to take my characters to a new level and get a fresher air that match better their personality. Following, you can see the latest redesign and variations for Bersak's design.

Environment art is a new thing for me so I did some studies with the lead of my teachers at Voxel School, the focus on them are the depth field and how it is affected by the values.

Following you can find a couple of environment practice taking in mind the knowledge learned.

Finally, I would like to add some personal works I did for fun in the past. They are my favorite and help me to see how I started.
