The founding of Van Cleef & Arpels began with a beautiful love story. At the end of the 19th century, Estelle Arpels, the daughter of a jeweler, and Alfred Van Cleef, the son of a diamond craftsman, had a romantic encounter. The two powerful partners joined forces to start a business together. They finally named the brand Van Cleef & Arpels after their surnames.Luck is a beloved theme of the Maison and a guiding light for Van Cleef & Arpels, inspiring the Maison to create a series of iconic pieces.

Van Cleef & Arpels has recently reopened its Hong Kong boutique following a renovation of the 2,350-sq-ft mansion in Landmark Prince’s building at 10 Chater Road. Designed by Parisian architects Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, the refurbished store reflects the city’s key characteristics in its interior with a blend of nature and contemporary architecture.
