Renders
Breakdown
Concept / Ref Board
For this project i used this concept by Tony Zenitium but also added some details based on other concepts and real objects like stickers and extra buttons.
You can sea the concept here
Creation process
1. In order to create this asset i used the high to low workflow. I modeled the base mesh in Fusion 360 and then imported it into Zbrush for polishing to get the HP.
2. In Maya i created the low poly and the UVs. For this task i imported a base mesh from Fusion 360 way less dense than the one before. To get the LP done i did some manual retopo for some parts and using the Fusion base i did some clean up for others.
3. For the UVs i tryed to follow the rules, marking seams at 90 degrees edges, getting straighten UVs when possible, avoiding diagonal shells and at the same time harden, soften and adding some extra edges in order to establish smoothing groups and also adding some edge loops in the borders of cylinders to avoid scalloping.
4. For the stickers creation i used Substance Designer and for the speaker cloth i used a combination of Blender for the simulation, Zbrush to add detail as well as getting the height map and Designer for clean up.
5.For the baking i used marmoset
6. Finally i created my textures in Painter and Rendered the asset using Ray Tracing inside of Mamoset.
